昨今、MWSは精製水クラスの高純度の水を供給原水として受け入れられる場合が増えている。供給原水の水質向上はMWSにとって腐食とスケール付着を防止する上でも好ましいことである。しかし万が一、飛沫同伴による交差汚染が起きた場合、表１で示すように精製水およびWFIは、共に導電率とTOCがそれぞれ同じ値であり、エンドトキシンと生菌数が異なっているのみである。
